In the Mood for Food

Two feet long pizza slices, Doritos tacos and milkshakes with whole brownies sitting on top of them--we millennials have it well when it comes to food choices. Our generation is unbelievably talented in taking existing foods and mashing them up to create something wholly new and delectable. Even better are the bloggers going around journalist-style and religiously posting about some of these tasty treats. Let's take a look at some of our favorite food bloggers.

Soy is the go-to food blogger if you either live in Los Angeles or are planning to take a trip there soon. As there are so many places to eat in L.A.--Delilah's (American), Guelaguetza Restaurante (Mexican), Meals by Genet (Ethiopian), Din Tai Fung Dumpling House (Chinese), just to name a few--getting overwhelmed when deciding a place is an understatement. Soy minimizes your tasks by featuring many famous food joints--a majority of them Asian food such as Chinese and Korean--and takes mouth-watering pictures of her dishes so you can easily decide your next destination.

Jenni from @helloxjenni takes pictures of her food like it's her lover. Her account is full of food pictures that are bright, artistic and fun to look at. She also posts the occasional selfie or travel pic in the same artsy style. Jenni is also a Los Angeles native, and therefore many of the eateries she recommends are in that area. Her diverse food choices range from donut joints like DK's Donuts to the Spanish gem Ración. Her account is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for new and exotic places to give you a relief from the mundane.

Regardless of whether you are a food expert or you don't own a taste palette, Heejin of @hungryhungryheejin will make your mouth water. Her pictures are picturesque, and offer clear and crisp images of her next meal. She also gives brisk but informative descriptions of what she's eating, and her food conquests are so diverse--they range from classic, popular restaurants such as In-N-Out in her native California to Polenta Waffles from Glada in Las Vegas. Warning: do not check her account on an empty stomach unless you enjoy suffering.

If you're into food, fashion, or traveling, then you've probably heard of food/travel blogger extraordinaire, @taramilktea. Most wouldn't say this about pictures of food, but it is most appropriate to describe her pictures as breathtaking. With perfect composition, lighting, editing and content matter, @taramilktea makes great food recommendations as well as creating photographs that rival works of art. Besides food, her pictures also consist of her travels: sailing yachts in Crete, visiting Hello Kitty in Tokyo, and walking through the Valensole fields in France. Whether you're researching into your next honeymoon destination or you're an aspiring photographer, this is an account you absolutely need to check out.

@lichipan captures every girl's dream through pictures: charming table spreads, poses in flower-printed maxi dresses in front of photographic landscapes and greyscale bedrooms with the occasional fur throw. Her blog features notable restaurants/cafes such as Celsius Coffee Co., (which fortunately is in Australia for our Aussie followers) which has neatly arranged food packed upon a colorful plate, and Belfied on Botany--basically another word for "Burger Heaven". If you're in the mood for inspiration, open that tab and check out @lichipan now.
